Herbert Haskel Jones (Goose), 88 of Taylorsville passed away Saturday, March 19, 2022 at the Bellevue Assisted Living in Hattiesburg, MS. He was born Monday, December 18, 1933 in Taylorsville, Mississippi.

 Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 24, 2022 from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Taylorsville.  Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 25, 2022 at 2:00 P.M. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Taylorsville. Burial will follow in Providence Baptist Church in Mize.  Bro. Corbey Jones will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Taylorsville is in charge of arrangements. 601-785-6564

 Mr. Jones worked at Georgia Pacific in Taylorsville for over 25 years. He retired from Georgia Pacific in 1996. He loved to be outside, hunting, fishing, planting gardens, and spending time with his loving wife Geneva Jones and family. He enjoyed spending time with his grandkids and great-grandkids.

 He was preceded in death by his wife of almost sixty-three years Geneva Jones;  parents, Thomas  “Alp”  and Erma Lee Ashley Jones;  brothers, Evert Lee  Jones and Dorman  Jones;  brother-in-laws, D.C.  Roberts, Dan McIntosh, and Mack Mooney; sister-in-law, Norma Jean Roberts.

 Survivors include his children, Donna Kay  Blakeney  and her husband, Lanny, Robert Haskel Jones, Pattie Ann Jones Cromwell and her husband, Robert; Laura Sue Jones- Miller and her husband, Douglas, all of Taylorsville; five grandchildren, Samaria Blakeney of Taylorsville, Marianna Blakeney of Taylorsville, Stephanie  Cromwell Wardell and her husband, Kolton, of Laurel, Benjamin Cromwell and his wife, Jesseka , of Buckhannon, WV, and Raeden Miller and his wife, Kimberly of Taylorsville; five great-grandchildren, Lealah Wardell , Preslee Wardell, Gabriella Blakeney,  Brianna Taylor, and Baby Boy Miller; sisters, Dimple  Mooney and Diane  Moore;  and numerous nieces, nephews,  cousins, and friends.

Pallbearers will be Stanley Jones, Mark Jones, Jeff Jones, Benjamin Cromwell, Micah Cromwell, Jacob Jones, and Raeden Miller.

Honorary pallbearers will be Johnny Jones.
