Henry Breland Roberts passed away on Tuesday, July 24, 2018, at the age of 89. He was born on February 5, 1929, to the late Maxie James Roberts and Mary Etta Lee Roberts in Jefferson Davis County.
He retired from Southern Natural Gas Company after working there for 41 years. He was fondly known by the nickname “Rabbit or Rab” by co-workers and friends.
He is survived by his wife of seventy years, Cora Belle Welch Roberts; son, Mitchell Roberts; daughter, Diane Stewart; grandchildren, Connie Parish (Scott), Colby Stewart (LeeAnn), Cassie Pittman (Mikie); great-grandchildren, Katie Parish Hinton (Chance), Janie Parish, Anna Belle Stewart, Laurel Stewart, Elie Stewart, Marshall Pittman, Myles Pittman, Maryn Pittman, Murphy Pittman; great-great-grandchildren, Hagen Hinton, Haize Hinton; brothers, George Roberts (Sondra), Lewis Roberts (Hilda), Bob Roberts (Diane); sister, Frances Lack.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, James L. Roberts, Dan Roberts, Sam Roberts, Charles Roberts; great-grandson, Aubrey Lane Parish; son in law, Steve Stewart.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 27, 2018, at Whitesand Baptist Church in Prentiss, MS. from 5:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Services are Saturday, July 28, at 11:00 a.m. at Whitesand Baptist Church with interment following in the church cemetery.
Arrangements are entrusted to Tutor Funeral Home of Magee.
