By James Davis
The Scriptural passage for today is found in John 14:21: “Whoever has My commands and obeys them, he is the one who loves Me. He who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I, too, will love him and show Myself to him.” Jesus is speaking to His disciples, His followers, telling them the key ingredients one must have in order to please both Jesus and His Father: love and obedience. The true follower of God will exude love, because God is love. Without love, we, His children, cannot commune with Him. It’s imperative that we Christians know God’s commands by studying our BIBLE daily. His love fills and flows through us the moment we accept Him as our Lord and Savior, and that communion becomes easy and natural. We will want to obey Him, to seek His face. Let’s never forget that God loved us and sent His son as a sacrifice for our sins. Let’s be about sharing the love of God with others.
Okay, we have our charge for the day: we are to spread and share the love of God with others. While at it, let’s not forget to include joy and kindness as we mix and mingle with our fellow man. It will be pleasing to God. Amen!
