Hazel Irene Wilson Carr Morrow
(July 14, 1934 – February 9, 2022)

Hazel Irene Wilson Carr Morrow, 87 of Braxton, Mississippi passed away from her earthly home to her heavenly home on Wednesday, February 9, 2022, at Comperes Nursing Home in Jackson, Mississippi. She was born Saturday, July 14, 1934, in Hazlehurst, Mississippi.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 12, 2022, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Mendenhall at 3077 Simpson Hwy 13, Mendenhall, Mississippi.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, February 13, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Mendenhall in Mendenhall, Mississippi. The burial will follow in Braxton City Cemetery in Braxton, Mississippi. Brother Maurice Bryant will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Mendenhall is in charge of arrangements. 601-847-4401

Mrs. Hazel was a member of First Baptist Church of Braxton.  She loved to attend church when she was able.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend.  She enjoyed dancing, fishing, traveling with her husband, playing cards, and most of all spending time with her family.  She will be greatly missed by her loving family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband “the father of her children”, William Elbert “Pete” Carr and second husband, Robert Lewis “Cotton” Morrow; son, William Keith Carr; father, George Wilson; mother, Sally Mae Branning Wilson; brothers, Prentis Wilson, Steve Wilson, Burnis Wilson, Rupert Wilson, and Land Wilson; sisters, Helen Wilson Ratcliff and Merle Wilson Mixon.

Survivors include her daughters, Linda Darlene Carr Foster (Derrall) of Sontag, MS, Sheila Diane Carr Jones of Florence, MS, and Cathy Lynn Carr Teasley of Braxton, MS; grandchildren, Chris Russell (Kym), Kevin  Russell (Amanda), Brian Russell (Christy), Susie Foster Smith (Jamie), Patricia McNeese Ainsworth (Bo), Timothy McNeese, Michelle Jones Smith (Robert), Bobby Jones (Katie), Michael Teasley (Alisha), Niki Carr Whatley (Devin), and Amanda Carr (Josh Hall); twenty-seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; daughter-in-law, Angie Watts Carr; and a host of other family members and friends.

Pallbearers will be Kevin Russell, Michael Teasley, Brian Russell, Chris Russell, Bobby Jones, and Timothy McNeese. Honorary pallbearers will be Devin Whatley and Bo Ainsworth.
