Hattie Marilyn Hughes, 82 of Magee, Mississippi passed away Sunday, November 26, 2023. She was born Saturday, April 12, 1941 in Magee, Mississippi.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 30, 2023 from 10:00am until 12:00pm at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home, 302 8th Ave SW, Magee, Mississippi. Funeral services will be held that same Thursday at 12:00pm at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Magee, Mississippi. Bro. Gary Roberts will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Magee is in charge of arrangements. 601-849-5031

Mrs. Hattie was a very sweet and precious woman. She loved the Lord and her family. She loved to sew, make quilts, and crochet. She especially loved to garden and tend to her flowers. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend. She will be deeply missed by all those who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Hughes; son, Jeffrey Mitchum (Teresa); father, Melvin Calhoun Herrington; mother, Mardell Jordan Herrington; brother, Johnny Wayne Herrington; sisters, Mary Cronley and Merle Ingram.

Survivors include her son, Mark Mitchum (Becky); daughter, Lisa Mitchum Daniel (Eddie); grandchildren, April Mitchum, Will Daniel, Misty Presley, Jill Daniel, Ashley Herrington, Jeffrey Mitchum, Matthew Mitchum, Thomas Mitchum, Josh Mitchum, Samuel Mitchum, Alicia Mitchum, Megan Mitchum and Carlee Mitchum; brother, Melvin Dale Herrington (Ann); and twenty-five great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.
