Harold Ralph Austin died Saturday December 14, 2019 at his home in Mendenhall after a lengthy illness.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM Monday December 16, 2019 at Colonial Chapel in Magee. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM till service time. Bro. Joe Metts and Jerry Craft will Officiate. Pallbearers will be Shelby Colson, Joe Ates, Chad Breeland, Scott Rankin, Russ Miller, and Jimmy Nichols. Music By Linda and Jerry Craft and Meagan May.
Harold was born January 28, 1935 in Taylorsville, Mississippi. He was a graduate of Mize High School. A member of Calvary Presbyterian Church in Mize. He attended Dry Creek Baptist Church in Magee the last 63 years. He worked 15 years at Swift Packing Company in Jackson. He was a farmer, trucker, and self employed. Harold lived in the Dry Creek Community from 1956 to 1989 when he and Jeanette moved to Mendenhall.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years Jeanette Stewart Austin; three children, Lisa Breeland of Mendenhall, Paula May of Brandon, James Austin of Mendenhall; four Grandchildren, Chad Breeland, Jodi Miller, Meagan May, and Abby Austin; four great-grandchildren, Brantley and Addison Breeland, Bella and Brady Miller.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents Roy and Newell Austin, sister, Becky Wooley, and brother, Billy Austin.
