I just love seeing the pictures on FB of everyone’s mothers! I was blessed with a wonderful mother, Mary Ruth Dickey. She was a strong supporter of her church, her family, and her city. So many times, I “hear” in my mind words from my mother. I continue to make decisions in my life around what I think my mother would say. I miss my mama. I miss having someone who loves me unconditionally.
To all the mothers I say “happy Mother’s Day!” Your unwavering love for your families does not go unnoticed.
My heart breaks for people who are experiencing their first mother’s day without their mother. Watching others celebrate with their mothers really is tough…that is why my friends, we always say love ‘em while you’ve got them! Hug your mama today! Hug your friends today. Hug the people who made or make a difference in your life! Just hug somebody!!!
I watched my mother bury her father and her mother; her sister; her brother; her husband who was only 55 years old; and her grandson. The lessons I learned from my mother during the darkest times of her life have served me well. She always said, “you get up and go forward…there is no option. God is faithful.” Thank you for the lessons mama. You were a wonderful teacher!
We as mothers are teachers everyday of our lives. Let’s be mindful of the lessons we teach.
Enjoy your day! I will be with my oldest son Dickey, wife Lynda, and son Hudson in Madison. I am truly blessed.
