MDOT urges public to stay weather aware as Tropical Storm Arthur tracks toward state

Daniel C. Jones, District Attorney, announces the guilty pleas of defendants for Simpson County, Mississippi.

 

Mendenhall- District Attorney Daniel C. Jones announced that on Friday, March 13, 2-15, the following pleas were heard by the Hon. Eddie H. Bowen:

*Raven Wells, pled guilty to burglary of a dwelling, ten (10) years MDOC, under the direction, control and supervision of MDOC, and pay court costs of $451.50 and restitution to the victims in the amount of $3,067.88.

*Rogerick Brown, pled guilty to burglary of buildings, seven (7) years MDOC, pay back all restitution owed, for five (5) years supervised probation and two (2) years unsupervised probation under the direction, control and supervision of MDOC

*Julius Bender, pled guilty to possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, one year to serve under the direction, control and supervision of MDOC.

*George Koenig, pled guilty to sexual battery of a child, twenty (20) years under the direction, control and supervision of MDOC, pay $1,000.00 within six months after released from MDOC

*Tarquis Grubbs, pled guilty to possession of a controlled substance, marijuana, three (3) years MDOC and court costs of $451.50.

*Donnie Lee Frederick, Jr., pled guilty to possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine, three (3) years MDOC and court costs of $451.50.

*Paul Hughes, pled guilty to possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine, three (3) years MDOC and court costs of $451.50.

District Attorney Jones went on to say that his office “prosecutes criminals without passion, prejudice, improper influence, political standing, financial standing, or regards to race” and it is his duty to “ensure that justice will be served with each and every case [his] office handles.”

 

Daniel C. Jones represents the 13th Circuit Court District which includes Covington, Jasper, Simpson, and Smith counties.
