The Scriptural passage selected for today is found in 2 Peter 3:18: “Grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be glory both now and forever! Amen.” The apostle knew that the early Christians needed constant encouragement and support in order to help build churches steeped in faith and the teachings of Christ. The letters he sent the churches were necessary to keep the members assured that growth was essential for the Christian in order expand God’s earthly kingdom. We, too, are encouraged to grow in grace and knowledge of our Lord in order to be better equipped to combat the forces of evil and to help others of the faith in their walk. That growth will only take place through the study of God’s Word and an active prayer life. Amen!
