Great Expectations

By:  Diana Holland

As humans, we expect things from each other. We expect things from God. We expect things from our friends. We expect things from Christians. We expect certain things from certain people. Also, people expect things from us. When you give, most people expect something in return. What happens if they don’t receive something back? They’re upset. They’re confused. Sometimes, that may even be the only reason they gave, is to accept something back. So, when you pray to God and BEG him for things such as a good grade, a healthy family, a new job, courage, better friends, and so on… Do you just beg and expect Him to answer your prayers or do you give Him something in return? Maybe he feels just like you do when you give to someone and get nothing back. The Bible says in Luke 6:38 “give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, shall they give into your bosom. For with what measure ye mete it shall be measured to you again.” Give to God, and it will be given to you. Why do we as humans expect so much out of God and not pay him back with our lives?? We should live every second of our day for Him and do everything we do for His glory only. That’s the LEAST we can do. I mean, He did send His son to die on a cross for us. HELLO!!! This has been something that has been on my heart for the past few days and I just had to share.

So.. Examine your life. Are you just expecting wonders from God without giving back? Or are you living your life for Him? Think about it..

Role models can be positive or negative.

Don’t put a lot of concern into what others think of you.
