Update on Simpson County School Board Meeting

June 5, 2026

One fact is for sure, these high school seniors will never be together as a whole again! Many will continue their education, attend separate colleges and universities, while others will began job careers.

Graduates below are some facts to ponder:

First, never stop learning. If you attend school or choose a career,  always remain open to learning. If you do not continue learning, you will stop living.

Second, focus on effort   Always give 100% percent to whatever you attempt in school, work, or just life in general.

Third, there is no neutral gear. At all times, individuals are moving forward or being left behind. Make sure you are going forward!

Fourth, take that first job. The job might not be the one you always dreamed of or wanted but everyone must start somewhere.  You will be surprised what experiences and knowledge are gained from the first job. Always leave your options open. No one knows what the further will hold. Commit to your job, career, or school and always remember how you arrived.

Lastly, remember your friends and family. These people will always be there for you even when the job is not.

Graduates, remember before you walk off that stage or field, stop and take a look. Embrace your friends and enjoy the accomplishments  attained by the class.  Tomorrow, the next chapter of your life begins.

“Graduation is only a concept. In real life every day you graduate. Graduation is a process that goes on until the last day of your life. If you can grasp that, you’ll make a difference.” Arie Pencovici
