The spirit of giving is alive and well at Goodwater Baptist Church in Magee! Under the leadership of Pastor Jason Webb and Ministry Intern Luke Hardin from Mississippi College, the church’s grades 1–6 youth are taking part in a special Thanksgiving Mission Project designed to bless local families.

This year’s mission is simple but powerful—to share the love of Christ through a Thanksgiving meal. The children will help pack food boxes that include a turkey and traditional sides, ready for distribution through a drive-thru pickup at the church.

📍 Pickup Location: 1313 Goodwater Road NW, Magee
📅 Pickup Day: Sunday, November 23, 2025
💰 Cost: Absolutely free — open to anyone in need of a holiday meal.

Pastor Webb shared that the project is about more than food—it’s about service. “We want our children to understand what it means to help others,” he said. “They’re learning that giving their time and hearts is just as important as giving things.”

Luke Hardin echoed that message, encouraging the community to come together. “Our goal is to teach these young students that even the smallest hands can make a big difference.”

Donations are still needed to make this mission a success. The church is accepting money and food contributions to help provide for families who might otherwise go without a Thanksgiving meal.

Anyone who would like to donate or knows a family that could benefit from a meal is encouraged to contact Goodwater Baptist Church before Wednesday, November 23.

What a wonderful way for our children to learn the meaning of service — and for our community to come together in thankfulness and love.
