Mayor Dale Berry announced at the January 4, 2022, meeting three Explorers have arrived at the dealership and are waiting detailing.
The 3 new vehicles were authorized by the Aldermen and included in the 2021-2022 budget for the Magee Police Department.
Mayor Berry asked Chief Chris Jones to identify the three “worst” Chargers. These cars will be stripped of any police equipment that can be used and sold at auction.
Chief Jones informed the Board that camera are to be installed at Park Place Apartments by the end of January. Management is securing the cameras.
Work continues at Azalea Apartments with management to install cameras. Management informed Chief Jones no money was available in the budget for cameras. A courtesy officer will possibly be on site at the apartments.
The Chief continues to work with other apartments in the city to secure cameras.
