The rain brought the cancellation of the Mendenhall Christmas parade…but the parade has been rescheduled for Friday! Magee’s Christmas parade is still on for Thursday night beginning at 6 in downtown Magee! I just think the Christmas parade is a great kick off to the month of December. Several stores in downtown Magee will open before, during, and after the parade…just another chance to shop local!

Congratulations to Janet Peden, Linda Eubanks, and Cynthia Barrett …winners of 3 tickets to the Christmas Tour of Homes given away by MageeNews.com. Three more tickets will be given away…so watch for that story and comment…anytime during the day…so check the website frequently.

I have received the December Compassionate Friends Newsletter and am glad to email a copy to anyone. The newsletter is for anyone who has lost a child. The articles in the newsletter are excellent…and sometimes, you might find something that will give you hope to survive during this holiday season.

Happy 14th Birthday to Larkin!!!

Happy 14th Birthday to Larkin!!!

April 8, 2026

The Christmas Shop is rocking and rolling in preparation for opening Saturday from 8-12. Last year approximately 275 families were served (around 1,600 people)…600 Bibles were shared and 40-60 came to know Christ. The Youth of First Baptist Church plus adult leaders work hard to make the shopping experience special for those in need. Items are still needed: new toys, canned goods, household items…we have enough clothes. Items may be left at First Baptist Church Family Life Center each day this week. (Friday last day). Please pray as the opening time approaches.

I hope everyone has a wonderful day…be careful on the “slick” streets.

Remember I ad to this post through out the day…so keep on checking.
