The Scriptural passage chosen for today is found in Isaiah 54:10: “‘Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace be removed,’ says the Lord, Who has compassion on you.” The prophet Isaiah knew that his job as God’s spokesperson to the Jewish people was to assure them of God’s continuous love if they would but worship Him and keep His commandments. They were often led astray, however, and caused God great sorrow. Isaiah again and again urged God’s chosen people to rely on Him for their needs and not look to idols. We today are likewise asked by God to remain faithful to Him. If we do, He’ll never leave us or forsake us. We are His children, and He is our Father. Let’s obey Him and make Him proud of us. Amen!
