The Scriptural passage chosen for today is found in Psalm 71:17-18: “Since my youth, O God, You have taught me, and to this day, I declare Your marvelous deeds. Even when I am old and gray, do not forsake me, O God, til I declare Your power to the next generation, Your might to all who are to come.” What a marvelous prayer of supplication and praise the psalmist makes in this passage to his Creator, to God, the Giver of all life. He never held back in his adoration and praise to God for everything provided him. His one request was never to be abandoned or forsaken so he could continue to influence generations to follow after him. Read the two verses again. Are they not deeply touching? Did God not answer his one request? Think about it. Then, should we not be uttering that same prayer to the one true God, the Author and Finisher of our faith? Amen!
