Glynda Ann Powell
(September 4, 1934 – March 12, 2017)
Glynda Ann Mayfield Powell Glynda Ann Mayfield Powell, age 82, passed peacefully from this life Sunday, March 12th at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg, Ms.
After 26 years as a switchboard operator for Georgia Pacific, she retired in 1996. She was an active member of Calhoun Baptist Church in Hot Coffee and there was nothing more important to her than her family.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Leeman and Hattie Mayfield; daughter, Darlene Powell; grandson, Jeramy Easterling; brother, George Lynon Mayfield; sister, Elaine “Mama Laine” Carter, and brother, Joe Darrell Mayfield Sr.

She is survived by her husband, Thomas Ray Powell of Taylorsville; sister, Jeanelle Dickens of Collins; daughters: Connie White and husband Larry, Patti Ishee and husband Ronnie both of Taylorsville; Grandchildren: Lori Bounds and husband Chad, Roxanne Powell of Taylorsville, Heather Miles and husband Bobby Joe of Brandon, Jared White and wife Morgan of Gainesville, FL, Heath White and wife Brook of Taylorsville, Lauren Molina and husband Bernabe of Oak Grove, and Luke Ishee of Taylorsville; eleven great- grandchildren; and caretaker and special friend, Joseph Rice and a host of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 14th from 5pm to 8pm at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Taylorsville. Funeral services are Wednesday, March 15th at Calhoun Baptist Church in Hot Coffee, MS at 11:00am with interment in the church cemetery with Brother Glenn Edmonds officiating.

Pallbearers include: Jared White, Heath White, Luke Ishee, Bernabe Molina, Sid Worthy, Joe Darrell Mayfield Jr., Ronnie Keyes, Chris McDaniel, Myron Bontrager, Neal Bontrager, and Joseph Rice.
