The Scriptural passage for today is found in Matthew 5:19: “Whoever practices and teaches these Commands will be called great in the kingdom of Heaven.” Yes, we’re told many times in the BIBLE that we who claim to be Christians and followers of Christ are to be doers of the Word and not hearers only. To see someone in need and merely wish him or her well isn’t sufficient. We are to help the truly needy by providing food and clothing whenever possible. By doing such acts of genuine kindness and love, God is glorified, and He will not let our good deeds go unnoticed. Let us strive to reach out to others by helping to see to their needs and welfare. The Word of God for the people of God; thanks be to God. Amen!
