The Scriptural passage selected for today is one of my favorite on the subject of God’s generosity and is found in Luke 6:38: “Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.” The apostle thought it prudent to remind the early Christians that giving of one’s store is essential in conveying to others the love of Jesus. We should always consider first the needs of others and give with a cheerful heart. In so doing, we are richly rewarded in all areas of our lives by God. We are each admonished to give as we deem appropriate and always for all the right reasons. Let us be known as a giver and one who helps further God’s kingdom. And great will be our reward. Amen!
