Frank Fortenberry

Clinton, MS – Frank Fortenberry, 71, went to be with the Lord on Friday, July 27, 2018 at Edgewood Nursing Home in Byram. Visitation will be held on Monday, July 30, 2018 beginning at 9:00 AM with funeral services at 11:00 AM, both at Lakewood Funeral Home. Interment will be at Lakewood Memorial Park.

Frank was born in Magee, MS on May 25, 1947. He graduated from Magee High School and later earned a BS degree and MBA from the University of Southern MS. He was a retired self-employed financial consultant.

Frank was a devout Baptist throughout his life. For many years he was a member of Briarwood Dr. Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and Sunday School teacher.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Woodrow W. and Cleo Grayson Fortenberry; step-mother, Quay Fortenberry; and his brother, Michael D. Fortenberry.

Mr. Fortenberry is survived by his wife of 49 years, Shirley; daughter, Tanya Fortenberry Robinson (Clark); son, Brian Fortenberry (Susan); brothers, David Fortenberry and Morris Yates; sister, Ellen Roach; grandchildren, Grant Robinson, McKenzie Robinson, Grayson Fortenberry, Ellen Claire Fortenberry, Emily Fortenberry, Caleb Fortenberry; and nieces and nephews. Frank was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

A special thanks to Edgewood Nursing and Rehab Center and Pax Hospice for all their loving care.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wayne Ball Sunday School Class at Brandon Baptist Church, 100 Brandon Baptist Dr., Brandon, MS 39042 and to the Alzheimer’s Association at www.alz.org/ms or 207 W Jackson St #1, Ridgeland, MS 39157.
