Frances Elaine Deer

Elaine was born on December 21, 1935 in Simpson County, Mississippi to parents Joe Henry and Bernadine McDaniel.  She was a graduate of Mississippi School of Deaf in Jackson, MS.  She was a member of First Baptist Church in Mendenhall.  She had married her sweetheart, Coach Marshall Don Deer on December 13, 1958.  Elaine was a devoted wife and homemaker.

Visitation and services will be held on Monday, January 13, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Mendenhall.  Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Mendenhall is in charge of arrangements. (601) 849-5032.

Elaine Deer is preceded in death by her parents, her husband and her two brothers, William B McDaniel (Alyne) and Billy Travis McDaniel (Ann).

She is survived by her nephews, Gary B McDaniel (Theresa), Joe C McDaniel (Joan), Billy T McDaniel (Elaine), a niece Faith Ann Spratlin and a special companion, Barnette “Wizzie” Harville,  along with great nieces Amy McDaniel Green (Chris), Cheri McDniel Melton (Wesley) and Misty McDaniel Willis (Robert), Meliah McDaniel Crammer (Jesse) and  great nephews Brandon McDaniel, Travis McDaniel (Laramie), Bryant Spratlin (Libby) and Jamie Spratlin with a multitude of great-great nieces, nephews and cousins.

Elaine Deer will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved her.

The McDaniel family would like to extend a very special thanks to Providence Assisted Living, Adoration Hospice Ministries, Gary B McDaniel and Barnette “Wizzie” Harville for the amazing care and love that has been shown to Frances Elaine Deer.  We are forever thankful for all who were involved in her care.
