Suzy Thames paid me a visit today! She brought me a “challenge” which begins March 6 (Lent).

The challenge is to remove one item from your home or closet that you no longer need or wear and put into the trash bag. At the end of the forty days, donate the items to a place that can share them with someone who can really use them.

Each item that you place into the trash bag is to be placed into the bag with a prayer for the person who receives the item.

I thought the challenge was absolutely the bomb! I am so excited and wanted to share with my readers.

Suzy truly cares about others. She is active, along with a whole bunch of other stuff,  in the First United Methodist Church Food Bank. She has a servant’s heart.

Share this idea with your family and church. Just think of the difference we could make during Lent.

Lent is a solemn religious observance that begins on Ash Wednesday and ends approximately six weeks later, before Easter Sunday. The purpose of Lent is the preparation of the believer for Easter through prayer, doing penance, mortifying the flesh, repentance of sins, almsgiving, and self-denial.
