Dewitt Fortenberry III was appointed as Assistant Public Defender for the Justice Court System in accordance with the Mississippi Rules of Criminal Procedure that was amended July 1, 2017 at a salary of $9000.00 per year during the Simpson County Board of Supervisors meeting Tuesday, July 18, 2017.
Shirley Maddox met before the board asking for consideration of asphalting the road in her newly constructed subdivision that leads to four homes and the possibility of four more in the future. The board advised due to shortage of funds this would have to be considered during the next budget.
The board gave Road Manager, Ben Warren, permission to purchase at auction 2 tractors and a truck.
No new information on MDOC allowing inmates to pick up garbage. At this time Simpson County is still using county inmates to run garbage collection. There are just a few of county inmates in number. All garbage routes are on time and up to date with collection.
No further business meeting was adjourned until August 7, 2017.
