The Mississippi College football team will report to campus on Tuesday (Aug. 9) to open 2016 preseason activities.
The team will check into their dorms on Tuesday morning and then head to Provine Chapel for a student-athlete and parent convocation at 1:00 p.m. Following convocation, individual and team pictures will be taken before the team heads to physicals. Tuesday wraps up with “Media Day” at 7:00 p.m.
Wednesday’s activities include administrative meetings before opening practice on Thursday morning at 8:45 a.m. at the practice field across Highway 80.
The Mississippi College athletic department announced last week that they have completed the three-year transition process and are officially the newest members of Division II and the Gulf South Conference. All MC athletic teams are now eligible to win NCAA and GSC championships in the 2016-17 academic year.
The Choctaws, who were picked to finish 7th in the GSC preseason Coaches Poll, will open the 2016 season on September 3rd when they host Point University at 2:00 p.m. at Robinson-Hale Stadium.
