Football happenings in the county and State this weekend.

Magee will play at home against Lanier.

Simpson will travel to East Rankin.

Mendenhall will play at home against Raleigh.

All Friday night high school games start at 7:00 pm.

Saturday Ole Miss starts the morning off against Kent State.  Game time is 11:00 am.

Mississippi State will travel to Kentucky to take on what is expected to be a hard core fought game.  Game starts at 6:00 pm.

University of Southern Mississippi is at home against Rice. Game time is 6:00 pm.

Jackson State is open.

Also the MAIS state softball tournament is going on in Magee at the sportsplex Saturday.

There is plenty of sports action happening in the area this weekend.
