On January 26, 2017, Cliff Thames; Instructor for Medical Science Academy at Florence High School along with 10 of his students took time out of their busy day to visit Boswell Regional Center. They had a chance to tour the Sanatorium Museum and a question answer session given by David Tedford; Employment Services Director. Afterwards, they had the opportunity to meet Boswell Regional Center’s Director; Clint Ashley for a warm welcome, next was a short lecture by Sarah Kennedy; Infection Control Nurse. Finally, a tour of Pinelake Geriatrics was given by Kay Adcock; social worker for that unit.
The Medical Science Academy is a career and technical program designed to prepare students for the medical field. This is a four year program and students receive clinical hours in four different locations, this preparation will surely make transitioning from high school to college a success! We hope to see you again next year!
