Many fireworks are shot during the 4th of July holiday. Several injuries occur while participating in shooting fireworks. Remember to apply the rules below for a safe fireworks experience.
- Obey all local laws regarding the use of fireworks
- Know your fireworks
- A responsible adult should supervise all firework activities
- Alcohol, drugs, and fireworks to not mix
- Wear safety goggles
- Light one firework at a time an then quickly move away (No bottle rocket wars).
- Use fireworks outdoors in a clear area
- Never relight a “Dud” firework, move on to the next one.
- Always have a container of water and water hose nearby.
- Never carry fireworks in your pocket.
Also remember most pets are afraid of the noise of the fireworks. Make sure all animals are safe from any fireworks being shot.
