Mendenhall Elementary held a fire safety presentation in honor of National Fire Safety week. Mr. Matt Abbott, Mr. Andrew Bowman and Mr. John Stovall from the Mendenhall Fire Department visited with students at Mendenhall Elementary and discussed fire safety. They also gave a demonstration of how quickly they were able to get on their fire safety gear which took about a minute and a half-they also used the deck gun to show the students how far they could send water out to contain fires. Mrs. Dana Rankin and Ms Alicia Brewer’s class are also pictured with the green fire truck which is unique to the Mendenhall Fire Department. The teachers and students enjoyed the presentation and learned about all the duties of our brave firemen. A special thanks to Mr. Abbott, Mr. Bowman and Mr. Stovall for sharing their knowledge and their morning with our students.
