Sunday afternoon, August 20, 2023, a smoldering fire from Saturday became a full fledge forest fire in the woods of Hatchapaloo Deer Camp. The fire covered 70 acres.
According to a neighbor, once the fire started again, the fire moved quickly.
Very few details are available at this time.
Hatchapaloo Deer Camp is down Dry Creek Road near Rocky Hill Church on 503 in Smith County.
Cause of the fire is still under investigation.
