Ferda Puckett Maddox
(June 12, 1931 – May 4, 2022)

Ferda Puckett Maddox, 90 of Magee, Mississippi passed away from her earthly home to her heavenly home on Wednesday, May 4, 2022, at her home. She was born Friday, June 12, 1931, in Magee, Mississippi.

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 6, 2022, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home at 302 8th Ave SW, Magee, Mississippi.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 7, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home. The burial will follow in Sharon Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Magee, Mississippi. Reverend Chris Layton and Reverend Dan Perry will officiate. Special music will be provided by Mrs. Tasha Turnage.  Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Magee is in charge of arrangements. 601-849-5031

Mrs. Maddox was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church in Magee, Mississippi.  She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend.  She enjoyed reading her Bible daily and attending church, getting dressed up, cooking large meals, playing basketball, and most of all spending time with her loving family and friends.  She will be greatly missed by her loving family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Maddox; father, D.C. Puckett; mother, Betty Ainsworth Puckett; four brothers, Jimmy Puckett, Bobby Puckett, Dennis Puckett and Denferd Puckett; and two sisters, Nae Puckett Traxler and Betty Puckett Ainsworth.

Survivors include her three sons, Anthony Maddox (Darlene) of Magee, MS, Roger Maddox (Chris) of Brookhaven, MS and Ricky Maddox of Magee, MS; one daughter, Pam Maddox Chisolm (Lenny) of Magee, MS; six grandchildren, Trey Maddox of Brookhaven, MS, Trent Maddox of Brookhaven, MS, Brooke Maddox Peel (Jeff) of North Carolina, Brittney Maddox Ricks (Tim) of Magee, MS, Steven Chisolm of Magee, MS and Bethaney Maddox Freeman (James) of Martinville, MS; ten great-grandchildren, Jaxon Ricks, Kadie-Clarie Ricks, Karysen Chisolm, Kinley Chisolm, Colton Meadows, Ryder Maddox, Waylon Freeman, Easton Freeman, Ledger Peel and Lawson Peel; one brother, Billy Puckett (Tina) of Magee, MS; two sisters, Dale Puckett Herrington of Magee, MS, and Beatrice Puckett Little of Mize, MS; and a host of other family members and friends.

Pallbearers will be Tim Ricks, Steven Chisolm, Allen Maddox, Trey Maddox, Trent Maddox, and Roger Maddox.

Honorary pallbearers will be Anthony Maddox and Ricky Maddox.
