Did you know that February is National Bird Feeding Month?

Did you know that bird feeding/watching is the second most popular hobby behind gardening?

Did you know that feeding birds in winter is critical since berries and other natural sources of food are scarce?

Build a bird house…the birds need food during the winter…so “throw out” that old bread for the birds…or be really smart

and build a bird house complete with food!

I do love birds…and I have had some beautiful birds this year.  When I was in my office last week, a beautiful

red bird flew right up to the window…and then bang…try to fly in my house!  I’ve never seen a redbird do that.

Definitely the bird was dazed but otherwise went right on flying!

For years, I’ve told ya’ll about the wax wing swallows that “strip” my big tall holly tree at the end of my front porch in one day!  Well, today

was the day!  I almost missed one of my favorite events!  Seeing those birds flying in circles…eating those berries…getting “drunk” from berrie juice

and slamming into my windows on the side of the house toward the street…now ya’ll really, the birds have almost busted by windows…purple “poop” is

everywhere….but what a site!

Hope you enjoy your day…I enjoyed mine!
