On April 16, 2015, five children and three youth from First Baptist Church of Magee won superior in their state children and youth Bible drills! The state drill was held at Temple Baptist Church in Hattiesburg, MS, where children and youth from all over the state came with scripture hidden in their hearts to drill. All eight representatives passed the church, association, and state levels of the Mississippi Baptists Bible drills. Alexis Bishop, a junior and eight year driller from First Baptist, went on to compete in the quick drill, or six second drill. This drill requires youth to recall and find the scriptures and passages they have learned in six seconds or less. Alexis passed this drill with zero errors, and was then qualified for the Mississippi Baptists Bible Drill Tournament held on April 25, 2015, in Madison,MS. There, Alexis made it to the semi-finals where she was stopped just short of the finals.
Congratulations to all the children and youth drillers of FBC Magee, and a special congratulations to Alexis Bishop, Mississippi Baptist Drill Tournament semi-finalist!
