Thirty-six students and twenty adults left First Baptist Church of Magee for Timbercreek in Morton, Mississippi on Friday, August 14, 2015, for Connection Weekend. Connection Weekend is a back-to-school retreat for FBC Magee youth.
The students learned more about their identity in Christ and surrendering fully to Him this past weekend. Guest speakers Casey Williams and Miriam Beard from Pinelake Church in Madison, Mississippi shared with the students Friday and Saturday. Some of the quotes Casey and Miriam shared with the students included:
“We will begin to see our identity in Him when we stop trying to find it in ourselves.”
“We must surrender wholly to Him if we want to be holly for Him.”
“The way through the struggles of life is surrender.”
The youth also enjoyed fun activities such as O.M.C., Organized Mass Chaos, and a Lip Sync Battle. It was a great weekend for growth and fellowship for the First Baptist Church of Magee Students!
