In the early morning hours of Wednesday, October 8, 2025, a fatal accident occurred at approximately 3:50 a.m. at the intersection of Highway 49 North and the Walmart traffic light in Magee.
Authorities confirmed that the driver of one of the vehicles involved, Cory Chancellor of Ellisville, Mississippi, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The Magee Police Department continues to investigate the cause of the crash.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of Mr. Chancellor during this difficult time,” said Chief Denis J. Borges of the Magee Police Department.
Next of kin have been notified.
