Fatal Accident
Fatal crash in Rankin County.
Just after 8:10 p.m., MHP was advised of a single vehicle accident on HWY 80 in Rankin County near old HWY 49.
Preliminary reports indicate that a 2003 Red Toyota Corolla driven by Jackson Thompson was traveling westbound on HWY 80. Near the intersection of old HWY 49, the Red 2003 Toyota Corolla collided with Mr. Charles Banks who was walking on HWY 80. Mr. Charles Banks suffered fatal injuries and died as a result of this crash. This crash is currently under investigation and more information will be released pending the outcome of this investigation.
