On Sunday, March 16, at approximately 9:45 PM, the Magee Police Department dispatch center received a call reporting multiple shots fired at the Raleigh Annex Apartment complex.
Officers responded and canvassed the area. Upon further investigation, it was determined that Keyshunna Partman had been involved in a verbal argument with her boyfriend, which escalated into what both parties called accidental gunfire. Two shots were fired inside her apartment one bullet lodged in the wall, while the other struck the water heater. Fortunately, no one was injured, and the neighboring apartment was unoccupied at the time.
The other party involved stated that Partman never pointed the gun at him or anyone else and that no physical assault occurred but “ she was waving the gun negligently” Officers found no visible injuries or signs of a domestic assault.
Partman was taken into custody and transported to the Magee Police Department, where she was formally charged with family disturbance and discharging a firearm within city limits. Based on the findings of the investigation and the circumstances surrounding the incident, these were deemed the appropriate charges.
All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
This situation could have ended much worse had anyone been struck. A few minutes of anger are never worth losing your freedom.
