Magee still showing growing pains in another disappointing loss at home.
Member from Magee Police Department, Randy Crawford, and Joey Womack along with members from the Magee Fire Department, Michael Allan and Shane Steele. Served as honorary captains for the Friday night’s football game against Velma Jackson.
Magee Chief of Police, Randy Crawford, was given the honor of the coin toss. Captains for the Trojans were #1 Jaden Chatman and #73 Mac Anderson.
Magee won the toss and deferred the ball until the second half. Velma Jackson took the opening kick off to the 32-yard line. Velma Jackson would waste no time finding the end zone scoring on their first possession. Point after attempt was no good. Falcons lead the game by a score of 6-0.
Trojans could not get things going their way after receiving 4 penalties back to back and would have to punt the ball. With 3:19 left in first quarter Velma Jackson would cross the goal line again on an 18-yard pass. The point after attempt was not good, and Falcons increased lead 13-0.
During second quarter Velma would attempt a 30-yard filed goal that was short and no good. Trojans would take over. With 31 seconds left in the first half Magee successfully kick a 32-yard field goal. Velma Jackson would go into the locker rooms at half leading by a score of 13-3.
The student section was full of spirit supporting and cheering on the Trojans.
Trojans would not show any improvement in the second half. With 4:52 left in the third quarter Falcons scored on a 3-yard run. The Two-point conversion was no good. Falcon’s lead increased by a score of 19-3.
Fourth quarter the Falcons scored one last time on a 29-yard run. The Point after attempt was good. Falcons would seal the win with a score of 26-3.
Trojans will travel to Raleigh to take on the Lions Friday, October 6, 2017 at 7:00 pm.
