Congratulations to the Magee High School Class of 2018 upon graduation Tuesday, May 22, 2018.

Some things go on behind the scene that most people have no clue. A lot of hard work and time goes into setting and preparing for a ceremony. All decorating had been completed and were ready for graduation.  But, mother nature wanted a different outcome.  A large amount of rain fell on the field hours before graduation.  Radar showed a possibility of more developing storms headed in the path of Magee’s graduation.

Chaos started the evening.  Football field or auditorium where should graduation be held due to the rain. A decision was made around 5:45 to move the ceremony to the auditorium.  After all chairs, tables, podium, stands and ferns had been moved to auditorium and setup, then the decision was made to move everything back to the field! School officials were  determined not to let mother nature win. Everything that had been moved to the auditorium now had to be moved back to the field. With less than an hour, we are now back to the field.

A special thank you to all that helped in the transferring of chairs, tables, flowers and needed equipment.

If you helped in anyway during all the chaos Tuesday night, Dr. Tom Duncan – Principal, senior sponsors, and school officials thank you who played a part to have a very successful and nice graduation.  Believe it or not, the ceremony started on time. Great job everyone!
