Friday, July2, 2021, the Ride to Remember rode into the Simpson County Jail parking lot honoring Deputy Sheriff James Blair.

The Ride to remember begins in Washington State and covers 22,300+ miles

Six Riders travels 22,300 miles across the country visiting cities and police departments to honor the men and women of law enforcement who paid the ultimate price in their service to our communities in 2020.

“When a police officer is killed it’s not an agency that loses an officer, It’s an entire nation.” (Founder Chris Cosgriff)

SCRMC Community Health Fair Draws More than 200 Attendees

328 officers lost their lives in the line of duty in 2020.  Seven officers from

Mississippi, including our own James Blair, lost their lives during 2020.

In 2019, the End of Watch honored 146 fallen officers across the country.

The Riders were traveling to Brookhaven following their visit in Mendenhall.

Several county personal and friends were on hand to view the trailer which had the pictures of the 328 men killed in 2020.

Members of the Ride to Remember. The group does not publish their names.

As I viewed the pictures on the trailer, I thought of all the families whose lives changed in a split-second.  Young, old, black, white, Hispanic, men, women…these people made the ultimate sacrifice for our right to a safe nation.

We must never forget.
