Elton Hayes Cole, of Mendenhall, departed this life on July 30, 2016.  He was born on April 16, 1936, to his parents, the late Walter Quitman Cole, Sr. and Emma J. Cole in Puckett, MS.

Mr. Cole worked for Pet Milk Company for over twenty years, prior to moving into construction around the country for Brown, Root and Bechtel. Upon retirement, he,  returned to his home in Puckett to live out his golden years with family and friends.

He is survived by his son, Zachary Lynn (Brenda); brother, Marshall  Cole (Ruby Mae); sisters, Cleo Shelton, Tressie Freidlander; four grandchildren, Michael Ian, Damien Christopher, Amber Noel, Stevie Lynn Bullock and five great-grandchildren.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Jeffrey Purvis Cole; brothers; Walter Quitman, Jr., Gayther F. Cole, J. Cecil Cole, George Travis Cole and sister, Launay L. Cole.

Visitation for family and friends will be Tuesday, August 2, 2016, from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Tutor Funeral Home in Mendenhall, MS.  The service will be on Wednesday, August 3, 2016, at 10:00 am in Tutor Funeral Home Chapel in Mendenhall with final resting place following in Puckett Cemetery.
Arrangements are entrusted with Tutor Funeral Home of Mendenhall.
