Elder Sidney B. Shows, 87, of Mendenhall, Mississippi, passed away Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. He was born Friday, February 3, 1933.

Visitation will be held on Friday, December 11, 2020 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Magee.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, December 12, 2020 at 10:00 AM at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Magee. The Burial will follow in Good Hope Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.  Elder Tony Lester will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Magee is in charge of arrangements. (601) 849-5031.

Mr. Shows was a beloved husband, father, and pastor. He was also a jokester, a great card player, and checker player. Mr. Shows served in the U.S. armed forces for over twenty years.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Vema Rae Shows; daughter, Barbara Lynn Dyche; four grandchildren;  three great-grandchildren; parents, Ray and Viola Shows; one brother; three sisters.

Survivors include his son, Jeffery Stewart Shows of Hattiesburg (Lucy); daughters, Lori Katherine Coquat (Zane) of Redbanks, Janet Ronnell Douglas of Mendenhall, and Nora Lee Taylor (Richard) of Collins; fifteen grandchildren; thirty-six great-grandchildren.
