Elbert was a true biker at heart. He lived for motorcycle trips and travel, weaving memories through every mile. He was a free spirit, a lover of nature and the great outdoors. He always had a special place in his heart for animals, treating them as part of the family. At home, his faithful dog, Merle, was his constant companion, right by his side until the end.

His true joy was found in the moments off the highway: time spent with his kids, who were his pride and joy. The father of 3 children and grandfather to many, his laughter and stories will echo for generations to come.

No matter the path his children took, Elbert always ended every conversation with them with a loving challenge: “Grow up and be somebody.” Elbert’s legacy of love, adventure, and encouragement will forever ride on in the hearts of those who knew him and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Elbert Ray Austin and Juanita Bailey Austin; sister, Mary Jean Meadows.

Survivors include his son, Stephen  Elbert Austin  (Kirsten);  daughters, Melody  Dawn Amiri (Bryan) and Samantha Murray  (Thomas);  grandchildren, Kaylee, Dustin, Lucy, Landyn, Quinten, Kinleigh, and Azita; great grandchild, Ellie Meilike; brother, Howard  Austin  (Kristi); sister, Kathryn  McElhanney;  brother-in-law, Bobby  Meadows; and a host of family members.
