Jackson, MS.  On behalf of College Savings Mississippi, Treasurer Lynn Fitch announced that registration for the 2018 College Savings Mississippi Tuition Toss at this year’s Egg Bowl will officially open on Monday, October 1, 2018.

“College Savings Mississippi is pleased to offer this and other scholarship opportunities throughout the year to help Mississippians save for their education,” said Treasurer Fitch, Chair of the College Savings Mississippi Board.  “With the average cost for two full-time semesters at Mississippi’s eight public universities more than $7,000, this $2,529 scholarship can make a real difference.”

MACS accounts can be used to pay for tuition, mandatory fees, certain room and board expenses, books, and technology like laptops.  It can now also be used for K12 tuition at public, private, and religious elementary and secondary schools.

Entry in the Egg Bowl Tuition Toss is open to students, between the ages of 18 and 24, who are enrolled at a Mississippi public 4-year university.  The runner-up for the Tuition Toss will also win a MACS scholarship, in the amount of $529.  Contestants and alternates are responsible for their own admission to the Egg Bowl, which will be held on November 22, 2018 in Oxford, Mississippi.  College Savings Mississippi is the official halftime sponsor for the 2018 Egg Bowl.

Registration for the College Savings Mississippi Egg Bowl Tuition Toss ends at 11:45 pm on November 13, 2018.  Complete rules for the 2018 College Savings Mississippi Egg Bowl Tuition Toss can be found now at: https://www.treasurerlynnfitch.com/collegesavingsmississippi/Pages/Events.aspx.
