Edward Burlin Runnels, 52 of Mize, Mississippi passed away Tuesday, October 31, 2023 at his residence in Mize, Mississippi. He was born Saturday, July 17, 1971.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 2, 2023 from 5:00pm until 8:00pm at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home, 302 8th Ave SW, Magee, Mississippi. Ed was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, fishing, and FOOTBALL. He loved to especially watch the Buffalo Bills. Even after a life changing accident 13 years ago, he never lost his humor, always wanting to make others laugh. He felt very blessed to be alive and to watch his children grow up. He hoped that his life and story would be an inspiration to others and lead them closer to the Lord. He was a member of Shady Grove Church of God. He was a loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend. His infectious personality and smile will be forever missed.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Rachel Diane Allen Runnels.

Survivors include his wife, Nonette Bulger Runnels; sons, Hunter Runnels, Logan Runnels and Seth Runnels; father, Verlon “Burr Rabbit” Runnels; brothers, Chris Runnels (Sharon) and Ricky Runnels; mother-in-law, Sue Bulger; sister-in-laws, Annette Mathis (Jimmy) and Suzette Arender (Danny); and a host of other family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Hunter Runnels, Seth Runnels, Chris Runnels, Ricky Runnels, Ashley Powell, and Jesse Runnels.

Honorary pallbearers will be Matthew Runnels, Amp Frith, and Burlon Sims.

Special music will be performed by Tom White.
