Edna Earle Lane Guynes, age 95, passed away at Strong River Villa in Mendenhall on February 8, 2024. Edna Earle was the middle daughter of three children born to Edna Thompson Lane and Henry Coleman Lane of Silver Creek, MS.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, February 9, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Mendenhall City Cemetery. There will be a visitation for the family to receive friends from 12:00 until 1:30 PM at Tutor Funeral Home in Mendenhall, MS. Bro. Larry Pate will officiate the service.
Edna Earle was a graduate of Silver Creek High School and Co-Lin Junior College. In 1950, she married Charles F. Guynes, and they made their home in Raymond, Hazlehurst, and lastly in Mendenhall.
Edna Earle was employed as office manager for thirty-one years by the MS State Department of Health at the Simpson County office.
She was the mother of two daughters, Gale Guynes and Patti Neely (Randall), a grandson, Ryan Neely (Angie), and a great-grandmother to Conner Neely and Cooper Neely.
Edna Earle was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Guynes; her parents, Henry and Edna Thompson; and her two sisters, Sue Mahaffey (Paul) and Ramelle Moody (Robert).
