Edgar Ray (Byrd) Bridges, 85 of Braxton, Mississippi passed away Monday, August 29, 2022 at his home in Braxton, Mississippi. He was born Friday, July 6, 1937 in Mississippi.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 31, 2022 from 2:00 P.M. until 3:00 P.M. at Harrisville Community Church in Harrisville, Mississippi. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 31, 2022 at 3:00 P.M. at Harrisville Community Church in Harrisville, Mississippi. Burial will follow in New Zion Baptist Church Cemetery in Braxton, Mississippi. Bro. David Hanna and Bro. David Ware will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Mendenhall is in charge of arrangements. 601-847-4401.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Orman Bridges; parents, Rufus and Marie Bridges; brother, Wyatt Bridges; sister, Evelyn Tanner.

Survivors include his son, Joey Bridges (Kimberlee) of Colorado Springs, Colorado; grandchildren, Maryssa Bridges of Charlotte, North Carolina, Cheyanne Bridges of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Joey Bridges, Jr.  of Colorado Springs, Colorado; brother, Glynn Bridges of Clinton; sisters, Martha Thurman of Pearl, Bobby Godbey of Harrisville and Susan Wood of Harrisville; and a host of nieces and nephews and other family members.

Pallbearers will be BJ Tucker, Chris Jones, Danny Jones, Derek Huffman, Kade Jones, Jonathan Giangrosso, and Eric Dear.

Honorary pallbearers will be Sy Tucker.
