2018 Mississippi Lions Band Practice and Competition is underway. Magee’s own Kameron Durr will be at the head of the parade route as Drum Major.
Dancers, Color guard, and Drum Majors reported to training camp Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at the Pearl River Community College Campus. Remaining band members reported the following day.
An intense four day camp is held. Practice runs from 6 am in the morning until 11 pm at night with breaks for lunch and supper.
A concert will be performed Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at 6:30 pm in the Brownstone Performing Arts Center on the campus of Pearl River Community College. The event will be live streamed for those who can not attend.
The band will leave the next morning, June 28th, for a 6 day trip to Las Vegas, NV for International Competition.
After arrival the team will have a day of rehearsal to prepare for competition. Competition will be held Saturday, June 30, 2018. After competition the band will have some free time to tour the Hoover Damn, Grand Canyon and spend another day at Wet and Wild Water Park before departing for home.
