Dorris Floyd Mangum
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 4, 2015 at the Colonial Chapel Funeral Home for Dorris Floyd Mangum, 87, of Magee who passed away on Thursday, April 2, 2015 at the Magee General Hospital.
Reverend John Adcock and Reverend Paul Barnard will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the Siloam Baptist Church Cemetery in Magee. Music will be provided by Joanie Harper. Colonial Chapel Funeral in Magee will be in charge of the arrangements.
Pallbearers will be Ed Russell Miller, John Miller, Cliff Paschal, Lee Martin, Bert McPhail, and Ed Miller, Sr.
Mrs. Mangum, a Simpson County native, was a plant worker for Universal Manufacturing for over twenty years before retiring. She was an active member of the East Side Baptist Church. Mrs. Mangum was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur W. Floyd, Sr. and Bessie Lee Floyd, husband, Ellis Herrington; granddaughter, Kimberly Roberts, and her brother, A.W. Floyd, Jr.
Survivors include four daughters, Renee Grubbs and her husband, Tommy of Winnie, Texas, Deborah Turnage of Mendenhall, Beverly Blissett and her husband, Boomer of Florence, and Pat Jones and her husband, Gale of Magee; one sister, Martha Miller of Huntsville, Alabama; four grandchildren, Sharra Martin, Steven Grayson, Amanda McPhail, and Justin Roberts; and six great-grandchildren, Pierson McPhail, Presley McPhail, Sydnie Grayson, Matthew Martin, Zachary Martin, and Cody Martin.
Visitation will be held on Friday, April 3, 2015 from 5:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Magee. Family and friends may sign an online guest book at www. colonialchapelmageemendenhall.
