Services will be held Sunday, June 5, 2016, 2 p.m., at First Baptist Church in Magee. Burial will follow in City of Magee Cemetery.
Mrs. Stuard was an employee of Trustmark National Bank for 34 years, beginning as a bank teller and retiring as an Administrative Officer.  She was a member of First Baptist Church Magee for many years, serving as Church Treasurer, a Sunday School teacher, member of the church choir and President of the Inspirations.  She was among those who planned the Centennial of FBC Magee, compiling historical information related to the church’s first 100 years.
Family members describe her as one who loved her family and friends, always gave her best at any task she began, and urged her children and grandchildren to do the same.
Mrs. Stuard was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years and love of her life, Hilton J. Stuard; parents, J.E. and Ruby Sowell; sister and brother in law, JoAnn Sowell and Clyde Coleman; niece, Cathy Coleman Jones and brother in law, Robert L. Stubbs.
Survivors include one daughter, Jean Stuard; one son, Dr. Jimmy (Rosemary) Stuard; two grandchildren, Brooke (Dillon) Coulson, and Megan (Michael) Thornton; 4 great grandchildren, Caden Coulson, Jacob Coulson, Leland Coulson, Ann Sullivan Thornton; one sister, Mary Ellen Sowell Stubbs; one nephew, Mike (Robin) Coleman, and one great nephew, Tyler Jones.
Arrangements are entrusted with Tutor Funeral Home of Magee.
