Dorothy R. Meadows Williams, 88, of Mount Olive, Mississippi, passed away on Thursday, February 6, 2020, at her home. She was born on Tuesday, April 7, 1931.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2020, at 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at New Sardis Baptist Church in Mount Olive, Mississippi. Funeral services will begin at 11:00, and burial will follow in New Sardis Baptist Church Cemetery. Mrs. Debbie Ainsworth and Mrs. Brittany Hasbargen will provide special music. Bro. David McCord will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Magee is in charge of arrangements. (601) 849-5031

She was devoted to her church and family. She was a member of New Sardis Baptist Church up until 2001, where she served as a Sunday school teacher for many years. She then moved to Waynesboro, where she decided to share her knowledge of the Lord at Waynesboro First Baptist Church and taught Sunday school there as well. With the passing of her husband, Richard, she returned to back to her home church. She worked at Northern Electric Company for 27 years as a Quality Control Supervisor. She retired from Northern Electric Company, but soon when back to work at the Mississippi Department of Human Services.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Gaynell Meadows and Richard H. Williams; parents, Charlie J. Runnels and Ada Runnels; one brother, James C. Runnels; one sister, Bonnie Jean Sullivan; and one stepson, Dennis Williams.

Survivors include her one son, Duran Runnels (Rhonda), of Mount Olive; two stepsons, Darrell Williams (Mary) and David Williams (Becky), both of Waynesboro; one granddaughter Katie Mae Runnels, of Mount Olive; four step-grandchildren, Tyler, Zach, Matthew, and Cooper Williams, all of Waynesboro; two nieces, Becky Johns (Mark) and Regina Smith, both of Magee; one nephew, Jeff Sullivan, of Bruce; two great-nephews, Joseph Sullivan (Julie), of Gulf Breeze, FL, and Jacobs Johns, of Magee; one great-niece Jessica Sullivan Poynor (Randy), of Pensacola, FL, and a host of other family members.

Pallbearers will be Joseph Sullivan, Garrett Shows, Matthew Williams, Jacob Johns, Addison Comeaux, and Cooper Williams.
